Birdsville is one of Australia’s most iconic and remote race meetings. In 2016, the rains arrived just before Race day, flooding the town and cutting it off from the rest of the world. No one could get in or out. Two days later, with the top of the track bulldozed to reveal the dirt surface, and the racing went ahead.

I positioned a remote camera with a 300mm lens directly down the straight to capture the hooves as the horses thundered towards the finish.

Each print comes signed and complete with a Numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by Sharon Lee Chapman of Fast Track Photography.
